Our Pre-Kindy Program
At Ascot Early Childhood, our Pre-Kindy program is thoughtfully designed for children aged around 3 to 4 years — a time when they are developing rapidly in independence, communication, and social understanding. With a warm, nurturing environment and highly experienced educators, we provide the ideal bridge between toddlerhood and Kindergarten.
A Space That Supports Growth and Curiosity
Our Pre-Kindy space is purpose-built to nurture curiosity, independence, and school readiness. Every area supports meaningful play, discovery, and learning.
- Home corner and dramatic play encourage role play, storytelling, and real-world exploration, helping children build language, imagination, and social confidence.
- Creative arts studio offers daily access to paint, clay, collage, and natural materials, supporting self-expression, fine motor skills, and problem-solving.
- Literacy and quiet nook provides a calm space filled with quality books, fostering early reading skills, focus, and a love of stories.
- Construction and manipulatives include blocks, magnetic tiles, and loose parts that promote exploration of size, shape, pattern, balance, and early maths concepts.
- Sensory and nature play engages children through water, sand, light tables, and nature trays, encouraging scientific thinking and discovery.
- Outdoor yard shared with Kindergarten offers space for running, climbing, balancing, riding, sandpit play, & construction — supporting gross motor skills and social learning alongside older peers.
- Language, music, and movement sessions build communication, rhythm, listening, and memory through joyful group experiences.
A Rich, Balanced Learning Program
Our Pre-Kindy curriculum offers the right balance of intentional teaching and child-led exploration to help children:
- Develop early literacy and numeracy through songs, storytelling, counting games, and hands-on experiences
- Build social confidence, empathy, and cooperation through small group work, projects, and open-ended play
- Strengthen physical skills — from fine motor tasks like threading and drawing to gross motor activities in the playground, sandpit, and climbing zones
- Explore creativity through art, music, movement, and role play
- Extend curiosity and critical thinking through STEM challenges, nature investigations, and problem-solving tasks
Pre-Kindy children also begin to take greater responsibility for their belongings, routines, and choices — supported by educators who gently guide and encourage independence.
